The honest summary
Choppity is an AI clipper with active-speaker switching, transcript-based editing, keyword clipping and scheduling to social accounts, at a low entry price. It suits creators who want clipping and posting in one place.
When Choppity fits better
You want built-in scheduling to several social accounts, transcript editing, or the cheapest paid tier for a few hours of content a month.
When Skapo fits better
You clip multi-speaker interviews in European or Asian languages, want the layout picked for you inside each clip, or need more hours of video for the money with a published retention window for client work.
Is Skapo or Choppity better for interview podcasts?
Both keep more than one speaker on screen. Choppity switches focus to whoever is talking. Skapo picks the layout inside each clip on its own: while 2 to 4 people share the shot it splits the frame so everyone stays visible, and when the edit cuts to one person it frames whoever is talking. Run the same episode through both free tiers and compare how the first few clips are framed.
Is Choppity cheaper than Skapo?
At the entry level, yes: Choppity Starter is $20 a month for 3 hours of AI analysis. Skapo Freelancer Pro is $39 a month for 15 hours of source video, so per hour of video Skapo costs less than half as much. Which is cheaper depends on how many hours you process.
Does Choppity support Dutch or German podcasts?
Choppity transcribes many languages but does not document per-language filler removal or caption rendering. Skapo tunes 22 languages end to end, with a separate filler list per language and caption fonts for non-Latin scripts. For non-English shows, test both on the same episode and look at where the cuts land.
Can Skapo post to social accounts like Choppity?
No. Skapo produces the clips and you post them yourself or through your scheduler. Choppity manages 1 to 10 social accounts depending on plan. If posting from the same tool matters more than framing and language, Choppity is the better fit.
Does Skapo cut clips mid-sentence?
It tries not to, and it shows you where every cut sits. Skapo aims each clip at one line to open on and one to close on, and starts it on a whole word. Open "How this clip was built" on any clip and you see the opening line and where the clip sits in the episode. If an end runs long, trim it in the clip editor and only that clip re-renders. To move an edge outward, export the clip as a Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve timeline against your original video (paid plans, or after the EUR 8.99 clean-export unlock).
Try Skapo on your own footage
Up to four speakers framed, captions that never get covered, clips aimed at one whole point, and your shorts usually ready in about 10 minutes. Private by default, kept on the clock your plan sets.
