If you produce clips for several podcast clients, the slowest part of the week is often not the editing but the waiting: noticing the episode went up, downloading it, running it. Skapo White Label can watch each client’s YouTube channel and clip every new episode on its own, under that client’s brand kit, so the clips are waiting for review by the time you sit down. This guide covers how to set it up, the limits that keep it from running away with your credits, and what it does not do.
How it works
- One workspace per client. Each has a brand kit: caption style, colours, font, the client’s logo in a corner, aspect ratio (9:16, 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9) and your file-naming pattern.
- Watch the channel. In the workspace, under Auto-clip, paste the client’s channel link, @handle or channel ID. The first check runs within the hour and only takes stock of what is already there.
- New episode, new clips. Skapo checks the channel every hour. A new episode becomes an ordinary job under the client’s current kit, with the same clip picking, split-screen for two to four speakers and captions as a video you run by hand, and is billed like any other video.
- Review, then deliver. Clips arrive unapproved. Approve or reject each one (with a note if you like), then download the approved clips as one zip with covers, SRT and VTT captions, post copy per clip and a manifest.
The brakes
Automation that spends credits while nobody is watching needs limits. These are built in, and every skipped episode shows the reason on the workspace page:
| Brake | What it does |
|---|---|
| First check takes stock | Connecting a channel never clips its back catalog; only episodes published afterwards are clipped. |
| One episode per check | A channel that publishes ten videos at once is worked through one per hourly check. |
| Monthly limit per channel | 100, 250, 400 or 1,000 credits a month, or no limit. Measured on what that channel's videos actually used. |
| Account floor | Intake pauses while your plan balance is low, and you get an email with a top-up button. It resumes on the next check once credits are back. |
| Approval first | Every auto-clipped clip arrives unapproved, so nothing reaches a client bundle without you. |
| Stale episodes skipped | An episode that waited too long behind a limit is skipped rather than clipped weeks late. |
What it costs in credits
One credit is one minute of source video, not one clip. A weekly 60-minute show uses about 60 credits an episode, so roughly 260 a month; a channel limit of 400 covers it with room for a longer episode. White Label includes 3,000 credits a month, about 50 hours of source video, and can be raised without changing plan. See White Label for the plan and current price.
What it does not do
- Watch podcast RSS feeds, Spotify or other platforms: YouTube channels only.
- Approve or deliver anything on its own: a person always approves before a bundle.
- Give your client a login: clients receive files from you, not an account.
- Clip the back catalog when you connect a channel: run older episodes by hand.
Before you automate
Run one recent episode of the client’s show by hand first and check the kit: caption position, logo size, the clips Skapo picks for that format. A workspace can be tried in demo mode for 72 hours before you commit to it. For the framing side of interview shows, see the split-screen guide; for pricing the work to your client, the agency pricing guide.
